ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Wavespace Marketing Group is committed to ensuring that our website and digital communications are accessible to all visitors, including those who use assistive technologies or who may be affected by a disability. We believe accessibility is not a technical checkbox. It is a baseline standard of respect for the people we are trying to reach.

Our Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and represents the internationally recognised benchmark for digital accessibility. These guidelines are organised around four core principles: content must be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

While there is currently no federal law in Canada that mandates WCAG compliance for private-sector websites, we adopt WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our voluntary standard because it is the right thing to do. We are also mindful of the Accessible Canada Act, S.C. 2019, c. 10, which reflects a national commitment to accessibility that we support.

Current Accessibility Measures

We are actively working to implement the following on www.wavespacemarketing.com:

  • Clear, plain-language content written without jargon

  • Sufficient colour contrast between foreground text and background elements, meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)

  • Text that can be resized up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality

  • Descriptive alternative text for all non-decorative images

  • Proper semantic HTML structure, including logical heading hierarchy and meaningful link text

  • Forms that are labelled and usable without a mouse

  • Keyboard-navigable interactive elements, including menus and forms

  • No content that flashes more than three times per second, consistent with WCAG Guideline 2.3

Known Limitations

We are a small business and our website continues to evolve. We acknowledge the following areas where full accessibility has not yet been achieved:

  • Some legacy content pages may not yet meet current WCAG 2.1 AA standards and are being reviewed on an ongoing basis

  • Third-party embedded content, including social media feeds, external links, and embedded video content, may not fully conform with accessibility standards, as we do not control those environments

  • PDFs and design materials produced in tools such as Canva may have limited accessibility features; we will provide alternative formats on request

If an accessibility barrier is preventing you from accessing content on our website, please contact us. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information in an accessible format within five business days.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our website is designed to be compatible with current versions of the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers, including NVDA and JAWS (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)

  • Keyboard-only navigation using standard browser tab and arrow key controls

  • Browser-level text zoom and zoom functions up to 200 percent

  • High contrast display modes and inverted colour settings

We test our website using Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile devices. If you encounter compatibility issues using any specific assistive technology, please let us know.

Accessibility in Our Client Deliverables

Beyond our website, we produce a range of deliverables for clients, including reports, proposals, strategy documents, and marketing materials. We endeavour to:

  • Write in plain, clear language with logical document structure

  • Format documents with proper heading hierarchy to support screen reader navigation

  • Provide materials in accessible digital formats where possible

  • Accommodate requests for alternative formats

Feedback & Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website and any digital material we produce. If you experience a barrier that prevents you from accessing any content, or if you would like to request an alternative format, please contact us:

Ongoing Commitment & Review

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, or whenever significant changes are made to our website. Our goal is continuous improvement, and we take user feedback seriously in shaping that process.

We recognise that accessibility is a journey and not a destination. We commit to making ongoing, good-faith efforts to reduce barriers and improve the experience of every person who visits our website or engages with our content.
